Psalms of Hell

Last session, the brothers watched their mother — a chained, four-winged angel — dissolve into golden motes after Derrin pried her muzzle open just long enough for her to whisper 'be good.' Following those motes across the city led them straight to a Moon Gold household in the Sanctified District, where Killian's replacement was loading a carriage — someone cut a deal with Malak that left the party completely out of it. Outside the walls, Derrin and Deacon hunted tincture ingredients in the fog, ripping the head off a nightshade creature before it dragged Derrin over a cliff edge, while back in the city Azquireth clashed with Obarn over pride and prophecy — and the party used their hard-won remove-curse potion to pull Orion Musk back from the edge of death.

Twelve years after the Scourge broke Luyarnha, the party now knows the shape of what they're caught inside: four seals, four beast-princes of hell, and a prophecy that named them as keepers before they ever had a choice. The angels who delivered that scripture — including their own mother — were transformed and chained, and the city itself hangs suspended between heaven and hell by four massive chains the party has seen with their own eyes. The church is fracturing, the militia has a new captain, Killian is missing, and someone with enough power to bypass the party entirely just made a private arrangement with Malak. The tincture ingredients are almost assembled, Orion is alive but fragile, and the window to act is narrowing — the moons keep rising, and every one brings something worse.
